NUCO has agreed a special endorsement with Endsleigh with regards the Covid-19 pandemic. The full wording of each policy endorsement can be found here.
In laymen terms, while on holiday, our policies cover claims arising as a result of Covid-19 on the basis the FCDO is not advising against all travel or all but essential travel to your destination. Please refer to separate FAQ here, with regards what is covered if the FCDO are advising against all travel or all but essential travel to your destination
The policy also has additional benefits if you are forced to cancel your booking as result of Covid-19. This cancellation section of the policy is valid irrespective of the FCDOs advise with regards travel to your destination. This cancellation coverage is up to £500 on our standard policy and £1,000 on our superior policy. If you are not able to travel as a result of Covid-19, you will be covered as follows:
- If you are diagnosed with Covid-19 up to 14 days before departure (or admitted to hospital up to 28 days before departure due to Covid-19).
- If you are quarantined on the advice of a treating medical practitioner
- If you are self-isolating as a result of a personally and officially received track and trace notification
- Denied boarding booked transport on their outward journey by a public transport carrier as a result of failing pre-boarding Covid-19 checks.
In the event that you need to make a claim under this part of the policy, you will need to provide (as appropriate) either:
A certificate issued by a Medical Practitioner confirming symptoms or a diagnosis of Covid-19 or suitable evidence of instructions to self-isolate via an official track and trace programme; or
Written confirmation from the public transport carrier of boarding being denied.
