It is each your personal responsibility to ensure that you have valid travel documentation and that you otherwise meet the requirements of immigration and other authorities at your destination.

Passengers are required to have at least 3 months validity on their passport to travel, although it is advised to have 6 months if travelling to Europe.

Your passport must also be less than 10 years old on the day after you leave. If you renewed your current passport before the previous one expired, extra months may have been added to its expiry date. Any extra months on your passport over 10 years may not count towards the minimum period needed.

For further information contact the Passport Office on 0870 5210410 or visit https://www.gov.uk/browse/citizenship/passports. Up-to-date travel advice can be obtained from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, visit https://www.gov.uk/travelaware

Non-British passport holders, including other EU nationals, should obtain up-to-date advice on passport and visa requirements from the Embassy, High Commission or Consulate of your destination or country(ies) through which you are travelling.
